SEVERAL FRIENDSWOOD High School swimmers participated in the TISCA
Gulf Championships in Conroe, which was held on November 16. This swim meet
hosted 36 high school swim teams from the entire Houston metropolitan area and
also Austin, Bryan-College Station & Lufkin. This TISCA swim meet is one of the
fastest in the state of Texas where swimmers from their schools are the fastest of
the fast and must have qualifying times to get in to the meet. The Mustangs swimmers
did an outstanding job and represented FHS with great success.
Following are the Mustangs swimmers who reached the finals of their respective
events, giving Friendswood an impressive showing in their first time at the event:
GIRLS
• 200yd Medley Relay – 7th place: Lezli Sisung, Leah Givens, Olivia Theall &
Allison Proulx
• 200yd Individual Medley – 8th place: Sisung
• 50yd Freestyle – 5th place: Theall
• 100yd Butterfly – 2nd place: Theall
• 100yd Backstroke – 3rd place: Sisung (New team record)
• 400yd Freestyle Relay – 12th place: Proulx, Givens, Sisung, Theall
• 1m Diving – 7th place: Lily Ellis
Girls Team overall – 7th place (out of 36 teams)
BOYS
• 200yd Medley Relay – 18th place: Joseph Sloan, Max Hardt, Josh Haffelder,
Nick Jankowski
• 100yd Butterfly – 6th place: Hardt
• 100yd Backstroke – 4th place: Hardt
• 400yd Freestyle Relay – 18th place: Sloan, Gabe Kovach, Haffelder, Hardt
Boys team overall – 21st place out of 36 schools
