HIGH SCHOOL girls’ basketball is the highlight of a weekend that will see both

the Rockets and Texans in action on Saturday. The end of the week also see the

Lakers and the best player in the world dropping in on James Harden and Friends

on a nationally televised clash.

WEDNESDAY:  Clear Springs’ junior varsity team and Texas City’s #2 varsity

squad will be among the boys’ golf teams taking part in a meet at Pasadena Municipal

Golf Course. Pasadena Memorial will be the host team.

THURSDAY: Decked in new colors, The King makes his first appearance to Toyota

Center as LeBron James and the Lakers visit the Rockets for a 7:00pm game

that will be nationally televised by TNT. Houston won the first meeting this season

between the two with a 125-115 decision at Los Angeles on October 20.

FRIDAY:  The high school girls’ basketball schedule starts at 6:15pm when Danbury

visits Hitchcock in the District 24-3A opener for the Bulldogs. In District

24-6A play, Clear Falls is at Clear Brook and Clear Creek at Dickinson each start

at 7:00pm. The District 22-5A schedule includes Friendswood at Goose Creek

Memorial, Galena Park at Santa Fe and Galveston Ball at Texas City, with each

contest tipping off at 7:00pm.

In boys’ basketball action, Texas City at Hitchcock, Galveston Ball at state-ranked

La Marque and Clear Springs at Rosenberg Terry start at 7:00pm, with Strake

Jesuit at Friendswood beginning at 7:30pm.

SATURDAY:  There is one boys’ high school basketball game on the slate, as

Katy Taylor visits Clear Brook at 2:00pm.

In a rare Saturday afternoon contest, the Texans take their 9-4 record on the

road to take on the Jets (4-9) beginning at 3:30pm. Houston will look to rebound

from Sunday’s 24-14 loss to Indianapolis, while New York seeks to play the role

of postseason spoiler. NFL Network will have the game live, while KTRK 13 will

offer a simulcast.

After a brief two-game home stand, the Rockets revert to Road Warriors mode

when they visit the surprising Grizzlies at 7:00pm. It is the first of two meetings

this month against Memphis, which entered the week with a 15-10 record. AT&T

Sportsnet Southwest will begin its coverage with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
