The Texas City girls golf team took first place in the first annual Santa Scramble at Pasadena Municipal Golf Course. The Stingarees were helped to a victory by strong play by all team members. Miranda Summers drained a 25-foot birdie putt to put the Lady Stings 2 over par through six holes. Dasia Moore then sank a 15-foot birdie putt on the seventh hole to help the Lady Stings fire 1 under par 35 for the front nine. The Lady Stings would continue to hole out big putts all day, none more impressive that the 27-foot putt Aerica Moya hit on the last hole of the day to save par, and lead to the win with a final score of 75. The Stings will return to action on January 28.
