IT’S GAME TIME…HERE, THERE AND EVERYWHERE TO OPEN 2019

TO PARAPHRASE Chief Brody in Jaws, “we’re going to need a bigger schedule…” WEDNESDAY: The schedule is about as light as it will get today. In girls’ basketball, Clear Creek is at Brazoswood and La Marque at Pasadena Memorial each start at 1:00pm. The girls’ soccer slate has Texas City at Clear Brook starting at 2:00pm in what will be the first regular season game of the 2019 campaign. THURSDAY: It’s tourney time for both boys’ and girls’ soccer. The girls’ schedule will have Clear Brook and Santa Fe at the Humble ISD Invitational, while Clear Creek takes part in the Kingwood Tournament. Clear Falls is at the Waller Classic, with Clear Springs at The Woodlands Varsity Tournament and Friendswood at the Aggieland Classic in College Station. In boys’ soccer, Clear Brook, Clear Springs and Friendswood are each at the Katy Varsity Showcase, while Clear Creek and Clear Falls take part in the Pearland/Pasadena Cup. There is also one girls’ basketball game on the slate, with Santa Fe at Bay City beginning at 2:30pm. If the day isn’t busy enough, it concludes with the Rockets visiting the Warriors in a nationally televised game (TNT) beginning at 9:30pm. FRIDAY: Let the fun really begin. A busy boys’ basketball schedule starts with Santa Fe at Baytown Lee tipping off at 1:30pm, followed by Crosby at Galveston Ball at 2:00pm. The afternoon continues with Clear Creek at Brazosport and Clear Falls at Clear Lake at 4:00pm. The moon lights the sky while Clear Springs at Alvin, Clear Brook at Dickinson, Galena Park at Friendswood, Texas City at Goose Creek Memorial and Houston Episcopal at state-ranked La Marque each starting at 7:00pm, with Hitchcock at Tidehaven closing out the day at 7:30pm. In girls’ basketball, Clear Lake at Clear Falls tips off at 12:00pm, with Alvin at Clear Springs starting at 2:00pm and Baytown Lee at Santa Fe beginning at 2:30pm. Galveston Ball at Crosby, Friendswood at Galena Park and Goose Creek Memorial at Texas City each start at 4:00pm, with Hitchcock at Tidehaven beginning at 6:00pm and Dickinson at Clear Brook wrapping it up at 7:00pm. A pair of girls’ soccer matches are also on the schedule, with Baytown Sterling at Dickinson starting at 2:00pm and Pasadena at Texas City beginning at 7:30pm, the same start time as the Texas City boys’ soccer match at Angleton. Each of the four Clear Creek ISD wrestling teams will be at Berry Center for the annual Cy-Fair ISD Tournament that will conclude on Saturday. SATURDAY: Texas City will have its annual alumni soccer matches that will be held at 2:00pm. Concluding a brief swing out west, the Rockets visit the Trail Blazers at 9:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will begin its coverage with the pregame show at 8:30pm.
