Astros take show on the road out East
IT’S THE ASTROS and…well, not much else as the calendar pushes toward July. The week begins with the start of a road trip that starts against the Reds before a huge four-game set at the Yankees in what could be a preview of a postseason series.
Sunday: It will be Wade Miley’s turn in the rotation as the Astros conclude a weekend set against the visiting Blue Jays at 1:10pm. Miley will bring a record of 6-3 and a 3.14 ERA into the Father’s Day matchup and will be countered by Toronto hurler Trent Thornton (1-5, 4.78 ERA). AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will have the game live beginning with the pregame show at 12:30pm.
Monday: The Astros become road warriors when they begin a three-game set against their old National League West/Central Division rivals in Cincinnati. Brad Peacock (6-3, 3.42 ERA) gets the start for Houston, while the Reds will throw young ace Luis Castillo (6-1, 2.20 ERA), who will be making his first appearance against the Astros. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will air the game beginning at 6:10pm following the conclusion of the pregame show, which starts at 5:30pm.
Tuesday: Justin Verlander (9-2, 2.41 ERA) makes another bid at his 10th win of the season when he takes the mound for the Astros in the second game of the series against the Reds starting at 6:10pm. Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 4.43 ERA) gets the start for Cincinnati. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage at 5:30pm with the pregame show.
