A VARIETY OF EMOTIONS WILL BE in motion on Sunday as the Texans honor late founder and owner Bob McNair while the Dynamo say farewell to one of the franchise’s stars. The Astros continue their World Series push when they head to Tampa Bay for Games 3 and (maybe) 4 of the American League Divisional Series.
As usual, the start of the week will have a full slate of volleyball action along with the final stretch of team tennis matches for the fall.
Sunday: The Texans will honor their late founder and owner, Robert C. McNair, during halftime of their game against the Falcons. McNair will join receiver Andre Johnson in the Texans Hall of Honor as the franchise will also honor October 6 as Founder’s Day. Fox 26 will have the game live beginning at noon.
The Cowboys will have the featured game of the late afternoon schedule when they welcome the Packers for a 3:25pm kickoff. Fox 26 will also have live coverage of the game.
Dynamo franchise cornerstone DaMarcus Beasley will play his final match with the franchise when Houston closes out the regular season with a home date against the LA Galaxy beginning at 3:00pm. KUBE 57 will have match live.
Monday: Fall league softball continues at the softball fields of Texas City High School. Games begin at 5:00pm and will run through 9:30pm.
Game 3 of the American League Divisional Series moves to Tampa Bay as the Astros take on the Rays. Game time has not been determined but MLB Network will have live coverage.
Tuesday: The busy evening of high school volleyball starts at 6:00pm with Clear Brook at Clear Creek, Clear Springs at Clear Falls, Dickinson at Clear Lake and La Marque at Hitchcock. Texas City at Friendswood and Santa Fe at Galveston Ball each start at 6:30pm.
Team tennis also has a busy slate. Atascocita at Clear Brook, Alvin at Clear Falls and Clear Creek at Clear Lake each start at 3:30pm, followed by Friendswood at Galveston Ball and Baytown Lee at Texas City at 4:00pm.
Rockets fans will have to get up very early to watch them take on the defending NBA champion Raptors in a preseason game played at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Japan. The area seats 36,500, making it the third-largest indoor arena by capacity. NBATV will have the game live when it tips off at 5:00am.
If necessary, Game 4 of the American League Divisional Series will continue in Tampa Bay. FS1 will have live coverage but game time (again, if necessary) will be determined by the outcome of the other three divisional series.
