Many times, in my life I’ve joked about who I wanted to be like when I finally grew up. I’ve had so many people I’ve admired, and I still do. But of late, I have finally come to the realization that I don’t need to be the next Maya Angelou, Nora Ephron or some other great writer that I’ve admired through the years. Who I need to be is the best me that I can be. Every day I need to wake up, get up, and face my day even if it is not a perfect day. I need to love my people, look after my tribe, face my challenges, make my memories, and spend my time wisely, because it may be all that I’m given.
We are all still growing up in various ways, no matter how young or old we are right now. I’ve made up my mind to become the best me that I can possibly be! I’m finally content with who I’m growing up to be, I kind of like me, I really like me!
