Protesting increased water and sewer rates on Bolivar PeninsulaBolivar sewer and water rates are scheduled to rise once again. I have reached out to the Public Utility Commission and while they are unable to step in immediately, there is an appeals process. In order to appeal the rate changes, we need 10% of customers to protest the rate hike. If you would like to protest the rate hikes, please fill out the attached form and mail 10 copies to the Public Utilities Commission. Please see the form below. Texas Back in Business Grants Application FairLast month, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) announced that $100 million in new grant funding is available to small businesses damaged by Hurricane Harvey. As part of the ongoing recovery effort, Congress appropriated $100 million to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to be administered by the Texas GLO to offer grants of up to $250,000 to businesses damaged by the 2017 Hurricane. If your business was affected by Harvey, you can find more information here. There will be two workshops for those applying for the grant. The workshops will be held on Tuesday, January 28th at 5:30 PM and another will be held Wednesday, February 5th at 3:00 PM. Both sessions will be held at White’s Park Community Building at 225 White’s (Memorial) Park Road in Anahuac, TX. See the flyers below for more details. The deadline for applications is March 2nd, so do not delay in submitting your application! |
