Clear Springs, Friendswood and Clear Creek each entered the week with state volleyball title hopes. All three programs played third-round matches earlier in the week, with Clear Springs facing Deer Park (6A, Region III) and Friendswood met Fulshear (5A, Region III) on Monday, while Clear Creek played Dawson (6A, Region III) on Tuesday.
