Football is done in the Galveston County area, but the wrestling schedule assures there will be plenty of hard hitting action involving local high school teams.
Wednesday: No live events on the schedule.
Thursday: The annual CCISD boys’ basketball tourney begins with each of the district’s five high school teams being joined by Galveston Ball and Texas City. Meanwhile, Friendswood takes part in the Barbers Hill Tournament, state-ranked La Marque competes in the Katy ISD Tournament while Santa Fe competes in the Cedar Creek Tournament.
The girls’ high school basketball schedule also has a tournament-filled slant with state-ranked Clear Brook joining Clear Creek at the Katy ISD Tournament. Dickinson will take part in the Varsity Gulf Coast Classic.
Friday: There is plenty of high school wrestling as Clear Brook and Friendswood take part in the Katy Morton Ranch Tournament. Clear Springs will be at the Maverick Stampede.
The swimming/diving schedule will have Texas City joining Barbers Hill and Spring Westfield at the Pasadena Natatorium beginning at 4:00pm. Clear Brook welcomes Clear Springs and Galveston Ball to Brook’s annual Jingle Bells event, while the New Caney Invitational will include Clear Creek and Clear Falls.
The girls’ high school hoops schedule will start with Angleton at La Marque beginning at 5:00pm, followed by South Houston at Galveston Ball at 6:45pm and Iowa Colony at Hitchcock at 7:00pm. La Marque will take part in the two-day Barbers Hill Tournament.
The Rockets continue their road swing when they visit the Suns at 8:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage with the pregame show at 7:30pm.
Saturday: The wrestling teams of Clear Creek and Clear Falls will be among the teams at the Woodlands Invitational starting at 9:00am.
The Rockets visit the defending NBA champion Warriors at 8:00pm, with AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starting coverage with the pregame show at 7:30pm.
