The month comes to an end with a variety of sporting events that vary from soccer to the home stretch of the boys’ and girls’ basketball regular seasons.
Sunday: Most of the attention will be on who will reach the Super Bowl, with San Francisco at Philadelphia starting at 2:00pm (KRIV26) for the NFC title, while Cincinnati defends its AFC title at Kansas City starting at 5:30pm (KHOU11).
Monday: Both La Marque soccer teams are in action at Stafford, with the girls starting at 5:30pm while the boys hit the pitch at 7:15pm.
Texas City will be among the boys’ golf teams competing at Bay Oaks in a meet that is hosted by Clear Lake.
The one softball scrimmage on the schedule will have Clear Creek at North Shore beginning at 6:30pm.
Tuesday: The boys’ high school basketball schedule has La Marque at Columbia at 6:30pm, followed by Angleton at Santa Fe and Texas City at Galveston Ball (Clear Life Media broadcast) at 7:00pm. State-ranked Hitchcock visits Van Vleck at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, the girls’ high school hoops slate has Columbia at La Marque at 5:30pm, followed by Galveston Ball at Texas City at 6:30pm. Angleton at Santa Fe begins at 7:00pm.
In boys’ soccer, Clear Lake at Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Friendswood, Clear Falls at Dickinson and Brazoswood at Clear Springs each start at 7:30pm.
On the girls’ soccer side of action, Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Dickinson at Clear Falls, Clear Springs at Brazoswood and Friendswood at Clear Creek each begin at 7:30pm.
In softball, La Marque at Baytown Sterling starts at 4:30pm, with Houston Chavez at Clear Falls, Galveston Ball at Clear Springs and Texas City at Dickinson each starting at 6:30pm.
