District gold will be on the line in both District 24-6A and 18-5A as each hosts track and field finals this week. The week will also include the home stretch of both baseball and softball along with a weekend set that brings the Rangers to Minute Maid Park.
Wednesday: The District 24-6A track finals will be held at Challenger-Columbia Stadium beginning at 5:00pm.
It’s an early start for the Astros when they conclude a series at the Pirates at 11:35am. AT&T will have the pregame show at 11:00am.
Thursday: District 18-5A’s best in track will collide in Angleton beginning at 5:00pm. Top finishers will advance to the regional meet later this month.
Friday: The high school softball schedule starts early with Clear Creek at Clear Springs starting at 3:30pm, followed by Hitchcock at Hempstead at 5:00pm and Columbia at La Marque at 5:30pm. Brazoswood at Clear Falls is at 6:00pm, while La Porte at Galveston Ball and Texas City at Friendswood begin at 6:30pm. Clear Lake at Dickinson concludes the schedule at 6:45pm.
Meanwhile, the high school baseball schedule will have Texas City at Clear Brook at 5:00pm, with Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Brazoswood at Clear Falls, Clear Lake at Dickinson, and Santa Fe at Manvel each starting at 6:00pm. State-ranked Friendswood at La Porte and Hitchcock at Hempstead area 7:00pm starts.
The Astros welcome the Rangers for a weekend set starting at 7:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
Saturday: The sole high school baseball game will have Hitchcock at East Bernard at 2:00pm.
