Busy Sports Weekend Awaits Area

This weekend includes the usual high school football and volleyball slate on Friday, with Texas, the nation’s top college football team, at home on Saturday. There’s also a slate of tennis, while the Astros come home to push closer to another American League West Division title.

Wednesday: The Astros conclude their series at the Padres at 5:40 pm. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 5:00 pm with the pregame show.

Thursday: Week 4 of the high school football season starts with Dickinson at Clear Creek (Veterans) and Deer Park at Clear Falls (Challenger/Columbia) at 6:00 pm, while Bellville at Hitchcock starts at 7:00 pm.

The Astros begin the final homestand of the regular season with a 7:10 pm matchup against the Angels. Space City Home Network begins coverage at 6:30 pm with the pregame show.

Friday: Week 4 of the high school football season continues with Houston Westside at Ball, Clear Brook at Clear Springs (Veterans), Sam Houston at La Marque, Lamar Consolidated at Santa Fe (Clear Life Media Game of the Week on YouTube), and Texas City at Terry (Victory Sports Network) at 7:00 pm.

Meanwhile, Dickinson at Clear Lake starts the volleyball schedule at 4:15 pm, followed by Columbia at La Marque at 4:30 pm. Deer Park at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Clear Creek, and Clear Springs at Brazoswood start at 6:00 pm. Friendswood at Ball and La Porte at Santa Fe begins at 6:30 pm.

In high school tennis, Pearland at Clear Creek starts at 8:30 am, while Foster at Clear Springs begins at 4:00 pm.

The Astros and Angels get underway at 7:10 pm. Space City Home Network begins the pregame show at 6:30 pm.

Saturday: The college football schedule starts with Houston at Cincinnati (FS1) and Rice at Army (CBS Sports Network) at 11:00 am, followed by Houston Christian at UTSA (ESPN+) at 2:30 pm. New Mexico State at Sam Houston (ESPN+), Southern at Prairie View (ESPN+), and Texas Southern at Lamar (ESPN+) each kick off at 6:00 pm, while Bowling Green at #25 Texas A&M (ESPN+) starts at 6:30 pm. Louisiana-Monroe at #1 Texas (ESPN+) and Northern Colorado at Stephen F. Austin (ESPN+) begin at 7:00 pm. 

The Angels-Astros game begins at 6:10 pm, with Space City Home Network starting at 5:30 pm with the pregame show.
