The Astros won’t have time to catch their collective breaths after closing out the series against the Mariners on Sunday. The Red Sox come to town on Monday as they look to close the gap between themselves and the Astros for one of the three American League Wild Card spots. There’s not only high school volleyball to open the high school week as tennis and water polo also fill the slate.
Sunday: The Astros get an early start as they host the Peacock Network’s Sunday Morning “Brunch” game in the series finale against the Mariners. Gametime will be at 12:05pm.
Monday: The American League Wild Card chase gains intensity when the Red Sox swing into Minute Maid Park for the opener of a four-game set against the Astros at 7:10pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
One water polo match is on the docket when Houston Westside meets Friendswood at 6:00pm.
Tuesday: As usual, the high school volleyball schedule dominates, starting with Clear Creek at Deer Park and Columbia at Hitchcock at 6:00pm. Clear Falls at Summer Creek, Clear Springs at Dawson, Alvin at Dickinson, Pearland at Friendswood, Galveston Ball at Fort Bend Hightower, and Shadow Creek at Santa Fe close out the slate at 6:30pm.
The high school tennis slate will have Kingwood at Clear Creek at 3:30pm, and Texas City at La Porte at 4:00pm.
In water polo, Lamar visits Clear Creek with the girls scheduled for 5:30pm followed by the boys at 6:45pm.
