Through all the difficulties of this year, the people of La Marque did not allow the lights to go dim on their community Christmas. Though the parade was not rolling on the streets, there were plenty of stationary floats with children running around, collecting candy and other items given to them from the hosts of each float.

The La Marque High School marching band was present to usher in Christmas joy, and there were characters from the Nutcracker weaving in and out of the celebration to entertain young guests. Singing voices from the La Marque High School Master Chorale added more Christmas delight.
Residents of La Marque, Katherine Herrin-Keith and her husband Ben Keith brought their pink camper to celebrate a very merry pink Christmas as a stationary float. The La Marque Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association was represented by the Keiths along with Laura Divine and Ben Keith. Keep La Marque Beautiful was also represented by the Keiths as well as by Richard Lofits and Tonia Griffin.

Children waited in line to whisper to Santa their Christmas wish lists. I overheard several young boys asking for monster trucks.
Playing the part of Santa Clause was none other than Brandon Williams, a regionally favorite journalist, who has been wearing the Santa suit for as long as anyone can remember. Williams is the sports editor for The Post Newspaper and works for i-45 Now managing their news line up while continuing to provide content for online sports media outlets.
The city Christmas tree lights were turned on, and what looked like snow fell from the sky. I can’t verify for sure that it was snow, but it was white and fluffy, and the children enjoyed the Christmas tradition that floated down upon them.
One individual who has been coming to this La Marque Christmas celebration for about half a dozen years was pleased with the evening.
“The beautiful park festival with bands playing and choirs singing, all really captured the heart and spirit of the community and of Christmas,” said the attendee.
