At College of The Mainland the administration building
suffered some flooding on Tuesday morning and
will remain closed the rest of the week. The Testing
Center, which is in the administration building, also
will be closed the remainder of the week.
On Tuesday afternoon, outside crews were using
vacuums to clear out standing water in the administration
building. Engineers are expected on campus
Wednesday to survey the damage and determine
the best path moving forward to repair the building.
Approximately six to eight inches of rain fell in the
Texas City area overnight causing street flooding
which forced the cancellation of Tuesday’s classes
and campus activities. Classes were scheduled to
resume at College of the Mainland on Wednesday,
Sept. 12.
