Haak Vineyards and Winery in Santa Fe will host a Wine and Stars in the Vineyard event on
March 15, 2019, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Astronomers from the Johnson Space Center will
bring their telescopes to let guests enjoy the stars and planets. There will also be a menu for

USS Cavalla 75 th Anniversary Celebration
-Daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Seawolf Park in Galveston. The Galveston Naval Museum is
celebrating the 75 th anniversary of the commissioning of the USS Cavalla. Nicknamed “Lucky
Lady,” the Cavalla is best known for sinking the Japanese aircraft carrier Shokaku, which was
involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Free admission is available for veterans and active

Train Rides at the Galveston Railroad Museum
-Saturdays at Galveston Railroad Museum, 2602 Santa Fe Place, Galveston from 11:00am to
1:45pm. The "Harborside Express" is an open-air caboose that travels a mile up Harborside Dr.,
then returns to the Galveston Railroad Museum. The train rides are approximately 15 minutes
long. Boarding for the Harborside Express begins at 11:00am, with the last train ride departing
the depot at 1:45 pm. The train is a standing ride without seats. Due to the caboose being open
air, the rides will sometimes be closed during inclement weather.
Cooking with Flavor with Essential Oils, Keto Style!

Precinct 1Golf Tournament

Greg Rikard as they host the initial Precinct 1 Elected Official Golf Tournament in Galveston

Burt Heddles Fight Against Cancer Family Day
-March 16, 2019, 12:00pm to 6:00pm, VFW Dickinson Memorial Post 6378, 5204 Highway 3 in
Dickinson. Burt Heddles has spent much of his life as a first responder, beginning with the
Army’s 82 nd Airborne Division and as an EMS and Assistant Fire Chief in Dickinson. Currently
battling kidney cancer, Mr. Heddles’ family and friends are hosting an event to help him and his

Lick of the Irish Dog Adoption

Galveston County Animal Resource Center. Free dog kissers or human high-fives will be

Friendswood Youth Sports Day
-March 23, 2019, 7:30am to 10:00am. Opening Day for Friendswood Little League Baseball and
Girls’ Softball begins with a parade that begins at FM 2351 and ends on Stadium Lane.
Following the parade, the ceremonial first pitch for both baseball and softball will be made.
