AS AUGUST RAPIDLY approaches, both the Astros and Dynamo will get the stage to themselves one last time before the start of Texans training camp and high school sports season comes into focus. While the Astros return home for a weekend set against the Rangers, the Dynamo will need their passports for a match in Toronto. WEDNESDAY: Gerrit Cole (9-5. 3.23 ERA) gets the nod for the Astros when they continue their series at the Angels beginning at 9:07pm. The Angels have yet to decide who will get assigned the task to start as the club continues to reshuffle their staff in the wake of the tragic death of Tyler Skaggs, who passed away in Arlington two weeks ago. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest will start its coverage with the pregame show at 8:30pm. The Dynamo hit the road for a match against Atlanta United FC beginning at 6:00pm. KUBE 57 and TeleXitos will each have the game live. THURSDAY: The Astros look to Wade Miley (7-4, 3.32 ERA) to close out their set at the Angels, who will counter with Matt Harvey (3-4, 7.88 ERA). The start time will be an hour earlier than the previous three games, as AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts the pregame show at 7:30pm with the first pitch coming at 8:07pm. FRIDAY: Home sweet home awaits the Astros, who open a weekend set with the Rangers by giving Justin Verlander (11-4, 2.98 ERA) the ball. Texas will look to Mike Minor (8-4, 2.73 ERA) when the game begins at 7:10pm. Both AT&T Sportsnet Southwest and Fox Sports Southwest will have the game live, and each will start its respective pregame show at 6:30pm. SATURDAY: As of Monday’s press deadline, the Astros had not announced who would start the middle game of the series against the Rangers, who will go with Ariel Jurado (5-5, 4.63 ERA). Again, both AT&T Sportsnet Southwest and Fox Sports Southwest will have the game at 6:10pm following the pregame shows each network will start at 5:30pm. The Dynamo continue their brief road swing when they hit the pitch for a 6:00pm start against Toronto FC. Both KUBE 57 and TeleXitos will provide live coverage.
