THE ASTROS ARE BACK in the American League Championship Series and the Texans are underachiving. If ever the sports world showed us a sign that some things in October are normal, the previous sentence confirms it.

Sunday: The post-Bill O’Brien era begins for the winless Texans, who welcome the Jaguars for a 12:00pm kickoff at NRG Stadium. O’Brien was fired on Monday as both head coach and general manager with Romeo Crennel named as the interim head coach. KHOU11 will have the game live.

Struggling with a 1-3 record, the Cowboys will look to snap out of their funk at the expense of the visiting Giants. KRIV26 has the game beginning at 3:25pm.

Monday: Game 1 of the American League Championship Series gets underway as the Astros take on the winner of the Divisional Series between the Rays and Yankees (a decisive Game 5 was played on Friday night). Gametime was yet to be determined but the series can be seen on TBS.

Tuesday: The high school volleyball schedule will have Clear Springs at Clear Brook, Clear Falls at Brazoswood and Clear Lake at Dickinson beginning at 6:00pm. Baytown Sterling at state-ranked Friendswood, Port Neches-Groves at Galveston Ball, Columbia at La Marque, Santa Fe at La Porte and Texas City at Goose Creek Memorial are each 6:30pm starts.

The high school tennis schedule will have Galveston Ball at Baytown Sterling at 3:30pm and Manvel at Texas City at 4:00pm. Friendswood at Goose Creek Memorial is also a 4:00pm start.

Whether it’s the Rays or Yankees, the Astros will be competing in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series. Time is yet to be determined, but will be on TBS.
