THANKSGIVING WEEK will start with its traditional schedule of morning and afternoon boys’ and girls’ basketball across the area, highlighted on Tuesday with a pair of games between four of the area’s best boys’ hoops teams. On the girls’ side of the schedule, state-ranked Clear Springs visits North Shore on Monday while state-ranked Hitchcock plays host to Kashmere on Tuesday.

Sunday: Unlike previous matchups over the past few seasons, the Patriots at Texans won’t have much playoff bearing with New England coming into NRG Stadium with a 4-5 record and Houston sporting a 2-7 mark. Nevertheless, the two teams kick off at 12:00pm with KHOU-11 airing the game live.

Despite a 2-7 record, the Cowboys are still very alive in the comically-weak NFC East. Dallas returns off their bye week with a 3:25pm kickoff at the Vikings. Fox-26 will have the game live.

Monday: Thanksgiving Week begins with a full slate of high school girls’ basketball, starting with George Ranch at Clear Falls and Lumberton at Texas City at 11:30am. Galena Park at Galveston Ball tips off at 12:30pm, followed by Clear Brook at Katy Tompkins, Goose Creek Memorial at Clear Creek, state-ranked Clear Springs at North Shore and Brazosport at Dickinson starting at 1:00pm.

An equally active high school boys’ basketball schedule has George Ranch at Clear Brook at 1:00pm, followed by Columbia at Hitchcock at 1:30pm. Friendswood at Clear Falls, La Marque at Aldine Adams and Santa Fe at Northbrook each tip off at 2:00pm.

Tuesday: More boys’ high school basketball starts at 1:00pm with Clear Creek at Fort Bend Bush, Friendswood at Clear Springs and the annual hoops version of the Clash of the Causeway between Galveston Ball at La Marque. State-ranked Dickinson at Texas City and Houston Milby at Santa Fe starts at 2:00pm.

There’s even more girls’ high school basketball with Stafford at Friendswood and Houston Kashmere at state-ranked Hitchcock at 11:00am, followed by Dickinson at Baytown Lee at 11:30am. Clear Brook at Fort Bend Austin, Katy Tompkins at Clear Creek, Clear Falls at Manvel and George Ranch at state-ranked Clear Springs each tip off at 1:00pm, with Santa Fe at Angleton closing out the slate at 1:30pm.
