The games are real beginning Monday when the start of the high school baseball season begins with each of the area’s teams hitting the field. The highlight will be on Tuesday night when regional powerhouses Bellaire and 5A state runners-up Friendswood square off.

Monday: Opening day of the 2023 high school baseball season begins with Clear Brook at Pasadena Memorial at 3:30pm, followed by Santa Fe at Clear Falls at 4:30pm. Clear Springs at Alvin starts at 5:00pm, with Barbers Hill at Clear Creek and High Island at La Marque each starting at 6:00pm.
The La Marque soccer team is at Brazosport, with the girls starting at 5:30pm and the boys beginning at 7:15pm.
Santa Fe’s boys golf team will take part in the Montgomery Walden Tournament. The two-day event begins at 8:00am
Tuesday: The baseball schedule continues with Texas City at Dickinson at 6:00pm, with Bellaire at state-ranked Friendswood and Fort Bend Willowridge at Hitchcock each starting at 7:00pm.
In softball, Hitchcock at Stafford and Pasadena High at La Marque starts at 5:00pm, with Sam Rayburn at Galveston Ball beginning at 6:00pm. Friendswood at Magnolia West and Columbia at Texas City is at 6:30pm, while Legacy School at Dickinson closes the schedule at 6:45pm.
The boys’ soccer slate has Clear Brook at Clear Falls, Clear Creek at Brazoswood, Clear Springs at Dickinson, Friendswood at Angleton, Texas City at La Porte and Santa Fe at Galveston Ball each starting at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, the girls’ soccer schedule will have Clear Falls at Clear Brook, Brazoswood at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Springs, Angleton at Friendswood and La Porte at Texas City each starting at 7:30pm.
The Texas City girls’ golf team will host a meet at Bayou Golf Course beginning at 8:00am.
