Football-Filled Weekend Kicks Off Early

The third week of high school and college football season begins Thursday with a pair of area high school teams on the road, and is capped off with an action-packed Saturday when Santa Fe takes on host Fort Bend Clements.

Wednesday: The Astros visit the Blue Jays at 6:07 PM. Space City Home Network begins the pregame show at 5:30 PM.

Thursday: Week 3 of the high school football season begins with Clear Falls at Cy Falls at 6:30 PM, and Clear Brook at Goose Creek Memorial kicks off at 7 PM.

The Astros face the Blue Jays at 2:07 PM, with Space City Home Network starting at 1:30 PM with the pregame show. The game will also be aired on MLB Network. 

Friday: High school football kicks off at 7 PM with Channelview at Clear Creek (Veterans Memorial), Lamar at Clear Springs (Challenger-Columbia), Dickinson at Cy Fair, Friendswood at Ball, La Marque at state-ranked Hitchcock, and UNAL Monterey at Texas City (Victory Sports Net).

The volleyball schedule has Hitchcock at La Marque and La Porte at Texas City at 4:30 PM. Clear Brook at Clear Springs, Clear Creek at Dickinson, and Clear Falls at Deer Park begin at 6 PM, while Ball at Iowa Colony, Fulshear at Friendswood, and Santa Fe at Angleton start at 6:30 PM.

In tennis, Ridge Point at Clear Springs starts at 3:30 PM, while Friendswood at Dawson starts at 4 PM.

College football begins early as Deion Sanders and Colorado visit Houston at 6:30 PM on ESPN.

The Astros visit the Braves at 6:15 PM. Space City Home Network begins coverage with the pregame show at 5:30 PM.

Saturday: Santa Fe closes out Week 3 of the high school football season with a 6 PM kickoff at Fort Bend Clements. 

The college football schedule starts at 11 AM with Houston Christian at Nebraska (FS1), followed at 3:15 PM by Texas-El Paso at #7 Texas (SEC Network). Prairie View at Rice (ESPN+) and Lamar at Texas Southern begin at 6 PM, while #16 Texas A&M at #8 Notre Dame (KPRC2) starts at 6:30 PM. Sul Ross at Stephen F. Austin (ESPN+) begins at 7 PM.

The Astros continue their series against the Braves at 6:15 PM. Space City Home Network starts at 5:30 PM with the pregame show. 

The Dynamo are on the road against the Colorado Rapids at 8:30 PM. The game will be televised on the MLS Season Pass package on Apple TV.
