The only thing warmer than the weather is the level of competition in the
area, especially in high school wrestling as each of the area’s teams will
be in action. District 24-6A girls basketball gets underway on Wednesday,
along a handful of soccer scrimmages.
WEDNESDAY: The District 24-6A girls’ basketball schedule begins with Clear
Lake at state-ranked Clear Brook, Clear Creek at Brazoswood and Dickinson at
Clear Falls each starting at 7:00pm.
Meanwhile, the high school wrestling schedule will have Clear Brook hosting
Brazoswood and Clear Springs hosting Willis, Atascosita and George Ranch at
5:00pm.
The Rockets conclude a three-game road trip with a visit to the Cavaliers starting at 6:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest begins coverage at 5:30pm with the
pregame show.
THURSDAY: In boys’ high school basketball, state-ranked 5A powerhouse
Beaumont United visits Dickinson at 7:00pm.
A pair of high school soccer scrimmages are on the slate, with Strake Jesuit
and Clear Springs and Clear Brook at Dekaney (boys’) and Deer Park at Friendswood (girls) each starting at 7:30pm.
The Rockets drop into Madison Square Garden to collide with the Knicks at
7:00pm. AT&T Sportsnet Southwest starts its coverage at 6:30pm with the pregame show.
FRIDAY: A busy night of high school boys basketball will have Brookshire Royal
at state-ranked Hitchcock at 5:00pm, followed by Katy Taylor at Clear Creek
beginning at 5:30pm. Mayde Creek at state-ranked Clear Brook, Clear Falls at
Klein, Alief Elsik at Clear Springs, Baytown Sterling at Galveston Ball, state ranked La Marque at Columbia and Santa Fe at Texas City all starting at 7:00pm.
The girls’ basketball schedule will have Columbia at La Marque at 5:00pm, while
Hitchcock at Hempstead starts at 6:30pm. Friendswood at St. Agnes, Galveston
Ball at Baytown Sterling and Texas City at Santa Fe each start at 7:00pm.
Clear Springs’ wrestling team will be at Merrell Center for a meet with Cinco
Ranch, Grand Oaks, Conroe and Katy Paetow starting at 12:00pm.
SATURDAY: Clear Lake hosts a wrestling tournament that includes Clear Creek
and Clear Springs starting at 8:00am. Clear Falls is at Morton Ranch at the Old
School Invitational.
The high school girls’ basketball schedule will have state-ranked Clear Brook
at Clear Creek, Dickinson at Clear Creek and Clear Springs at Clear Lake each
starting at 1:00pm.
The Rockets return to the road when they visit the Pistons at 11:00am. AT&T
Sportsnet Southwest is up bright and early at 10:30am with the pregame show.
