Blessed to be a blessing. First I would just like to say Thank you to all my faithful Post friends and family and followers. I have truly missed you guys. There has been so much on my plate lately with my new marriage, ministry growing legs, and life! I am not making any excuses just bad time management because people can always say they were too busy to do this or that but you will always make time for what is important.
So in today’s Be The Change I would like to talk about being blessed to be a blessing. One thing I have learned while doing my ministry is that people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. So when I first started my ministry, Lost and Found Ministries, I know from the very beginning that it would be a ministry of giving back to the community mentoring, and helping the lost get found in Christ. There are so many opportunities in our community to be a blessing to someone else. But we get in our minds that since we cant be everything to everybody, we in turn become nothing to anybody.
As we are coming up on another school year, my ministry has decided that we are going to fill up over 300 backpacks full of school supplies for children kindergarten through 12th grade. I was once that kid whose mother was on drugs and started the school year with no supplies or school clothes so I understand the struggle that parents in need may be going through. We have partnered with different businesses and businessmen and women around our community to make a real difference. You just never know how much a backpack full of supplies means to a kid who without it would not have had anything the smile that will be on his face. And that is what it is all about. God is blessing us and we are wanting to be a blessing to our community. There are so many opportunities for us to be a blessing; we just have to look for them.
A lot of them are right in our face. So let me challenge you today. If you are blessed, go out and be a blessing to someone that you know cannot return the favor to you. And see if God does not return all that you gave out. I know that today’s Be The Change was a short one but I am really hoping that it challenges you. Because like I said before, you cannot be everything to everybody, but you can be something to somebody. And together we can make a difference in our community. Be The Change You Want To See.
