In remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2011, Emken-Linton Funeral Home sponsors
a luncheon at the Texas City Police Department to recognize the service and sacrifice of
Texas City First Responders.
Mr. Emken-Linton gave tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11 and the First
Responders who put themselves in harm’s way to save lives. Linton asked everyone to remember
those lives that were directly affected by the 1947 Texas City Explosion and the 2018 Santa
Fe School Shooting as well.
Chaplin Kevin Herrin offered thanks and asked for continued grace before Mr. Emken-Linton
and his staff served the First Responders lunch provided by A Taste of Texas.
As Hurricane Florence heads toward the Eastern Coast and with the knowledge that there
are so many still suffering as far away as Puerto Rico and as close as your neighbor down the
street., it is important to continue to remember those who suffered terrible loss in our thoughts
and our prayers and to make an effort to find time to contribute to the long term efforts that still
struggle to meet the needs of so very many.
