LA MARQUE HIGH SCHOOL’S basketball teams were the latest program in the area to be impacted by the coronavirus, as the Cougars girls’ team will be sidelined through at least early December following the positive tests of three athletes.

TCISD Director of Communications Melissa Tortorici confirmed on Friday that the La Marque girls’ team will not be able to play until at least December 8. Following contact tracing, it was determined that the La Marque boys’ freshman team will have to be sidelined for the next two weeks.

La Marque’s boys’ varsity basketball team was not impacted and were able to play their scheduled game against Clear Creek on Friday night. The Cougars’ next game will be on Tuesday when they host rival Galveston Ball.
