As the University Interscholastic League continues its celebration of 100 years of Texas high school football, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine named the 1997 state 4A, Division I championship game between Texas City and Corsicana as one of the 100 greatest games in history. The Stingarees won a 37-34 thriller that netted coach Rusty Dowling and his squad the first of two state championships.
