Let the Madness of March area sports begin

As the calendar turns into March, the home stretch of the high school soccer regular season kicks into gear as teams compete for playoff spots. Meanwhile, district play hits its opening stages in both high school baseball and softball.

Sunday: Nothing on the schedule.

Monday: The high school baseball schedule will have Dobie at Clear Falls starting at 4:00pm.

Meanwhile, in boys’ high school soccer, Texas City at Friendswood and Galveston Ball at La Porte each start at 6:00pm, followed by Brazoswood at Clear Brook and Clear Falls at Clear Lake each beginning at 7:30pm.

There is also one girls’ high school soccer match on the slate as Clear Lake visits Clear Falls at 7:30pm.

The Rockets welcome the Cavaliers to Toyota Center for an 8:00pm clash that can be seen on AT&T Sportsnet Southwest, beginning with the pregame show at 7:30pm.

Tuesday: High school baseball begins with a slate of 6:00pm starts. St. Thomas at Clear Brook, Texas City at state-ranked Clear Springs, state-ranked Friendswood at Galveston Ball, Manvel at Santa Fe and Baytown Lee at Texas City will each get underway at that time.

The high school softball schedule starts a bit earlier as La Marque at East Chambers and Hitchcock at Brookshire Royal get going at 5:00pm. Clear Brook at Clear Lake, Brazoswood at Clear Creek, state-ranked Dickinson at Clear Falls, Galveston Ball at La Porte and Santa Fe at Texas City each start at 6:30pm.

In boys’ high school soccer, La Marque at Liberty start at 7:00pm, followed by Clear Creek at Clear Springs, Baytown Sterling at Galveston Ball and Texas City at Friendswood at 7:30pm.

The high school girls’ soccer schedule will have La Marque at Liberty beginning at 5:00pm, with Clear Brook at Brazoswood, Clear Springs at Clear Creek and Texas City at Santa Fe each beginning at 7:30pm.
