Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU of Texas) is pleased to announce the promotion of Clay Franks from Chief Financial Officer to a new role as President of the organization. Due to the credit union’s recent growth, and to help prepare for the future, the Board of Directors approved the separation of duties of the President and Chief Executive Officer positions. Jack Click will remain in his current role as the credit union’s CEO.

Clay Franks is a highly accomplished accounting and finance professional with over 28 years in the credit union industry. Since 2006, Clay has served as Chief Financial Officer of ACU of Texas. Throughout his tenure he has excelled in multiple positions of leadership and has overseen multiple divisions of the company, including serving as Chairman of the Board of CU Financial Group.

Prior to joining ACU of Texas, Clay worked at Carbide Employees Federal Credit Union in Texas City, Florida Telco Credit Union (now 121 Financial), and First Florida Credit Union. Clay advanced through his tenure at these credit unions and held the positions of Internal Auditor, Vice President of Accounting, Controller, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. His dedication to the credit union industry, leadership experience and passion for meeting members’ financial needs uniquely qualify him for his new role.

Clay is a graduate of Victoria High School and holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. He has served as Board Treasurer for both The Independence Village in Texas City and the League City Little League. Clay is a 15-year resident of League City. He is supported by his wife Jody, a Pearland native, and their two children, Paige, and Luke. When not at the credit union, Clay can be found coaching his son’s baseball team or watching his daughter dance.

“Clay has been an integral part of our success and growth throughout his time at ACU of Texas. I have no doubt he will continue to accomplish great things for the credit union,” stated Jack Click, Chief Executive Officer.
