DICKINSON SENIOR receiver Jalen Wydermyer narrowed his choices to eight schools on Sunday evening, paring down a list of 22 schools that formally offered one of the nation’s top tight end prospects to play football at their respective school.
Wydermyer’s “Elite Eight” are:

The 6’5, 235-pounder caught 30 passes for 508 yards and eight touchdowns last season as he helped the Gators advance to the area round in the Class 6A, Region III playoffs. Wydermyer is a three-year starter for Dickinson who will be one of the top offensive players in the Greater Houston area this season. He is ranked as the 16th best tight end in the Class of 2019.
Wydermyer, who has not announced when he will make a decision, is one of two area players ranked among the top 200 players in the state of Texas according to 247Sports.com. Clear Springs running back Todd Hudson is ranked 185th overall after a 2017 season where he rushed for 1,472 yards and 16 touchdowns.
