Michael Stanton is ex-USAF, a probation officer specializing in mental health – the first ever in Galveston County – for over 25 years, and for the last year, he is the head of Mainland Community Partnership’s Disaster Case Management. So, it comes as no surprise that it would be his client who would receive the first new mobile home from a new collaborative Trailer Replacement program from Galveston County Recovers and Samaritan’s Purse.

This family has been living in a mobile home so damaged by Harvey , the  only thing holding it together was “desperation and prayer”. But after an exhaustive process, Stanton took this family’s FEMA denial and transformed it into a new home.

Far too many victims think that once they have been denied by an organization, be it FEMA or the General Land Office or one of the many non-profit organizations focus on providing assistance to Harvey victims that there is little else they can do. This is just one example of finding help for families who have either been denied or are still waiting for assistance.

If you or someone you know is in need, contact Galveston County Recovers, either by visiting their website at: www.GalvestonCountyRecover.org , visiting them at their offices located at 2000Texas Avenue in Texas City, Suite 601 or calling 409-643-8240
