Anthony Renfro was named head football coach at Clear Springs on Monday. Renfro, who had been the head coach at La Porte the previous two seasons, replaces Craig Dailey, who left the Chargers to take a similar role at Seguin High School, his hometown.
This marks the third stint at Clear Springs for Renfro, who was part of the original coaching staff when Clear Springs opened its doors in 2007. He left for San Antonio East Central with Chargers head coach Clint Hartman and coached there for three seasons before returning back to Clear Springs, where he coached before taking the La Porte job prior to the 2019 season.
Renfro was 9-10 in his two seasons at La Porte, going 5-4 during the 2020 season.
