(September 9, 2021) The Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce announced today that it’s annual “Legislative Update” business luncheon has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 20, 2021. It will be hosted from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City.
The Chamber hosts this event after each biannual legislative session to provide an opportunity for our elected officials to bring news from the State Capitol back to the community. This year’s event was originally scheduled in July, but when Governor Greg Abbott called the first special session of 2021 that caused conflicts for the elected officials to appear here and the event had to be postponed.
After two special sessions, this week Governor Abbott announced the dates for a third, and hopefully final, special session of 2021. It will be September 20 through October 18.
The event will feature state officials Senator Larry Taylor, Rep. Mayes Middleton and Rep. Dr. Greg Bonnen. U.S. Congressman Randy Weber will also deliver news from the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
All those who purchased tickets and tables for the original (July) date have been invited to push their reservations to the new date on October 20. New tickets and table reservations may be made now.
Tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a reserved table for six, and they can be purchased online at www.tclmchamber.com or by calling the Chamber at 409-935-1408.
