The Dickinson High School Theatre Department traveled to San Antonio for the Texas Thespians Festival where over 2,100 students competed in various acting and technical competitions.  The DHS Theatre department had 27 students attend the Festival and 20 of those students came back with trophies and medals!

Congratulations to the 11 students that have qualified for the National Thespians Festival held at Indiana University in June. Below are the students name and what they qualified with.

Monologue – Hannah McGinty with a monologue from August: Osage County & a monologue from A Streetcar Named Desire

Duet Acting – Chase Casterline & Seth Taylor with a scene from The Diviners by Jim Leonard

Group Acting – Audrey Brooks, Olivia Silvas & Jewel Richards with a scene from Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley

Solo Musical – Brianna Delaney with She Used to be Mine from Waitress the Musical

Duet Musical – Andrew Johnson & Kennady Spies with Therapy from tick, tick, Boom!

Duet Musical – Michael Flores & Noah Nuetzmann with Agony from Into the Woods

Additional awards that they received were All Star Troupe Table Winner designed by the Troupe Officers (Presidents Brianna Delaney & Eloise Correia, Vice Presidents Seth Taylor & Kenzington Bass, Secretary Caidence Foster, Treasurer Kennady Spies, Treasurer Chase Casterline & Clerks Sofia Mercado and Michael Flores), 1st place in Team Costume Construction (team including Maia Morales Morales, Leah Luna, Natalie Glukhenkiy & Kennady Spies), 1st place in Team Mask Design (team including Sofia Mercado, Haedyn Lynch, Olivia Silvas & Allie Davis) & lastly, a DHS first, Brianna Delaney was chosen to be 1 of the 8 Closing Ceremony Performers for the entire Festival.
